Anyways jokes aside, 3 of my biggest takeaways from this:

1) Marc really overdelivers in giving value and holds nothing back. This is what i joined this course for - to learn the details and go deeper down the rabbit hole. Not just scrape the ice on the surface. Indeed marc has delivered well on this and I'm totally blown away by the tools and strategies learnt this weekend on both TA and FA.

2) Being a trainer and speaker myself in the seminar industry, I fully understand how tough it can be to balance both basics and advanced, theory vs practice in a class setting. What I liked was that marc spent a fair bit of time not just in explaining the theory and strategy, but also drilling us over and over again in the routine and applying it ie. Dcf method, pullback strategy. This is good as it makes me learn from both the theory, the practice, and from my own mistakes made in the class. Kudos.

3) The pace is good. Some parts were quite technical, but at least we were given ample time to practice and apply, ask questions, and try it out, with enough breaks in between to refresh ourselves. I finished the course yesterday feeling very satisfied with what I learnt, as marc really went deep into the technicals, plus i also know how to apply it on my own.

In a nutshell, from the pov of a speaker/trainer, this is a well delivered and well structured course.

From the pov of a trader who loves details and technical stuff, this definitely delievered on that end too!

In last two days' training at Hard Rock Café meeting room, I found that Marc is one of its kind, no bull-shit speaker and lecturer whom with unique style automatically captures and drives his audience and Students to be very alert and hands-on to go along with him in the class.

I am 73 but I was surprised I could still work along with my laptop and obtain the result instantaneously due to his charismatic and thoughtfulness by intentionally asking a more experienced student to sits beside me to help.

I just completed the Marc Junyan Liu's Accelerated Trader Course last weekend. The ACT course is a hugely appreciated by the students, hence the great testimonials. Student testimonials have been written so elegantly that I'm finding very difficult to come up with other superlatives. So, I've decided instead to focus on the negatives. Here it goes...

Use of French Language: Marc occasionally uses French language to stress some critical points. To be fair to him, he did ask permission to use French Language. One of the students also expressed a question in French during the class. It was hilarious though.

Course is Too Short: How can you cover years of knowledge in just 2 sessions? Only Marc knows how. It is very impressive that Marc is able to deliver the contents in a very concise manner. This meant, no beating around the bush and always straight to the point.

No Time for fanciful questions: Due to the short sessions and concise content, there was no time wasting and dwelling on hypothetical and irrelevant fanciful questions. Students were busy absorbing the "mind-blowing" practical information and had time only for relevant smart questions.

Too little Trading Terms: Marc doesn't teach trading terms, various candlestick types, Indicators nor chart patterns. No discussions on head and shoulders patterns, doji star, Double Bottom, etc etc. WTF! (Why The Fuss?) Less cluttered terms and information helped me to free the brain for smart trading knowledge.

Doesn't copy great Fund Managers / Investors: Seriously? What is up with him. Instead Marc relies on the method he has developed and let the fund managers and investors do the hard work upfront for him.

Marc is a natural born Teacher. He knows what material to teach and deliver with precision.

It was two remarkable days attending the ACT. I really enjoyed being in the class and I am very grateful to have received wealth of knowledge. The course provided me with a sound framework to quickly identify stocks having higher probability of profit making. If anyone wants to Trade Smart and Not Trade Hard, I highly recommend that you attend the accelerated Trader course.

I am not one who will review/feedback on products or services that I consumed because:

1. I was never a convicted consumer of any products or services since there are usually substitutes. 2. Products or services are oftentimes commoditised and people's perception and hence experiences will vary. 3. I am adverse to wasting precious time on activities that will not help advance myself nor lives of others.

So why this review on the ACT course (over the weekend of 7-8 July 2018) now?

In Simon Sinek's words, "start with why".

Since a teenager, I had always been fascinated by the human mind, psychology and myriad emotions and at the same time I was curious about money. My curiosity on both subjects led me to the stock markets. It is from there that I begin my journey of discovery of what makes the people tick and vis-a-vis the markets. This led me down the path of learning as much as I could from the fundamentals to the technicals. But the more I learnt the more confused I become. While I have been investing and trading shy of 15 years, I am still a neophyte. What that means was I could not optimally discern what's important, where I should focus on and what should be construed as noise? I knew then I needed a mentor because blind pursuit of knowledge is just insane!

I got introduced to Marc Junyan Liu when I attended Collin Seow's The Systematic Trader (SMT) program a few years ago but that was the only contact I had - Marc had a unique disposition as a human being then and I found that he is an acquired taste!

Later I understood that Marc ran the The Accelerated Trader (ACT) program and heard of it from some of the alumnis of Tradersgps Smt. Being a life-long skeptic, I was quite convinced that there is nothing special that Marc (and he characterised - acquired taste!) will be able to teach me and that I haven't already know/read in financial and investment publications before. I needed validation, so I contacted Ange Line and requested to be registered for the ACT this year since I couldn't make it in 2017.

My views were correct! Marc covered a litany of key economic, financial and trading concepts and then some! I just realised that over the course of 2 days, he had effectively distilled and focus us on the critical knowledge from those theories that will provide us the necessary information to take actions on - be it in your investments, trades and daily living. The value that I extracted from these 2 days far exceeded the ACT course fees!

Without divulging too much and hyping expectations, here's what I got out of the course:

1. Saved time - I realised that while I know the economic theories, financial and trading concepts, I didn't know how to bring these together into a complete investment/trading gameplan. The epiphany I derived made it simple and allowed me to quickly express my views in my trades. I also got to know from ACT that you can just take fewer trades and be still be profitable.

2. Reduced myopia - I am a position trader and at times I invest for the longer term. The ability to quickly and easily interpret (without the need to pore through mountain of reports) economic conditions has now been shifted from the economists to a lay-person like myself. This ability allows me to form a view of the future with confidence.

3. Improved confidence - Trading the world's biggest market (US) can be quite daunting and intimidating since we are too far removed from that market. The ACT is focused on the US markets and Marc improved my confidence by helping me understand how to quickly derive the information I need to express my views with my trades.

4. Streamlined approach - I have always believed that for me to be successful in the markets I would need a lot of information and a large number of processes to run through my investment/trade ideas so I may put up the best trade with the best odds to extract the best returns. I am wrong! The ACT introduced a framework that orients and simplifies my trading approach while satisfying my need for trade idea validation.

5. Unlearning and relearning - Marc started the course by telling us that he wish to blow our minds! I was curious why he started with that statement. So I brushed it off since Marc had a unique disposition. I was sure this was be one of those strange metaphors he used to describe something exceedingly rude! Marc will deny this but I didn't know that there are such things as 'KKC' reason, ask him if you need to know! Marc clarified some myths especially around my traditional understanding of what volume represents. He drilled us with relentless exercises in order to make it part of our cerebral muscle memories which I must say is very helpful.

Did you know that you can quickly value a company using just 2 key numbers (publicly available info) and under 2 minutes? I was mind-blown!

So my reasons above suggested that I do this review of the ACT course because:

1. I am now a convicted consumer of the ACT and I believe there are no substitutes to the ACT that I am aware of.

2. I have got a very positive experience and lots of take-away that I have not gleaned from finance-related literature and other sources but the ACT course.

3. I believe the ACT has expanded and stretched my mind and am confident it will help advance my trading/investment journey.

P/S: For those who wish to know, there is no lock-in for participants of the ACT course which may compel you to subscribe to any financial services. It was important to me because I didn't wish for relationships between parties to be excessively sticky through actions of parties :-)

I have three words to describe the ACT course I just completed, simply "Two Thumbs Up”. Firstly, Marc teaches the class by heart, I really appreciate his effort of going the extra mile to program the automated calculation that saves us lots of time for evaluating the Intrinsic Value of the company. The knowledge received was excellent and understandable. With his proprietary trader background, he also shares his tested strategies of how to survive the market in the long run. More importantly, this ACT course has fulfilled my learning outcomes, essentially to learn how to INVEST correctly through proper calculation and also how to MAXIMISE your trading opportunities. The framework for trading is simple to follow and it just requires some filtering to shortlist stocks with higher probability. Hi Marc. I would like to say Big Thanks to you for giving me the learning opportunity from ACT course from which I gained a lot a lot a lot of knowledge, especially the Macro top-down process, which I have been looking for, and the TA which I realized that I didn't know much.

Before the ACT course, I did not know what I need to know. But I did feel that I needed to know something from the overall market view. As a no-financial background trader, this is, IMO, the BEST shortcut way to learn to trade, and even for investment (which I'm not into it now).

Why I say so, not only do I have to commit to a full-time job, also my family, with two kids. If I were to do all the calculations for the valuation and searching for the relevant web pages, firstly, I don't know where to go, secondly, I don't know how to use them, e.g., finviz screener(which I use for currency performance comparison).

All these hassles are solved now after completing the two-day course of ACT. I am so much more confident for my future trades and also believe that my trading psychology will get better.

Attended the ACT over the weekend and this is one of the part that I find very useful.. Although we are looking to trade, there are times when it is good to be in portfolio mode. When prices of good companies are way below valuation, it will be very profitable to buy and hold for the longer term. For the US market, even at current high levels there are companies that present potential for such a strategy. Even better is that with the tools taught (and given), I don't have to spend too much time on this. Think this will come in useful when (dunno when though) markets fall.. 😂

Also I like that the investment sub-framework can be used together with the trading sub-framework to narrow down our selection process for trades, to increase the chances of success. And the top-down approach from macro world view down to the sectors and industries. All it takes now is patience, discipline and hard work to keep practicing... 😅
